  1. Mmmmm that's really cool.

Quite in the mould of the Wish era instrumentals and The Big Hand.

  2. This rather sounds like Pink Floyd actually.

  4. Even though this is by no means incredible, there is actually space and atmosphere on the recording, something that The Cure cannot seem to do anymore. This is exactly why it is sad that Porl is no longer in the band. I am guessing that it was Robert Smith relegating Porl to the incessant wah guitar on 4:13 Dream. Also, I am sure that all of the best tracks were never included because Smith thinks that 20 year olds will be interested in The Cure and want to hear bad pop songs. Sadly, we will likely never hear the other half, or at least the original versions. Smith is likely to have re-recorded and re-tweaked everything and the awful Reeves is probably now on there instead of the far more talented and interesting Porl.

    1. I've always found it curious that Porl was always pushed as being some feedback-obsessed, fretboard-chasing rock god, yet I really think his best work is his atmospheric stuff like this and accoustic work.

  5. Porl is actually quite versatile. He does the feedback thing marvelously, but I am also fairly sure that he was the one who wrote things like The Snakepit and If Only Tonight We Could Sleep.

  6. Porl is the best guitarist and everyone no! it is changing its name to be associated to the cure I always ask what is it that has happened with Robert Smith? perhaps one day will have to know?
